Steve Elson of Wichita captured the title at the Columbia 300 Traditions Bowling Classic held at Don Carter All-Star Lanes – City View in Fort Worth, TX, on September 23-24, 2006.

Elson defeated Danny Kelch of Dallas, Pete Thomas of Oklahoma City, and Tyler Jensen of Flower Mound, TX, in the tournament championship match to claim a $2,500 first prize.

In the championship match, Elson and Kelch battled it out up through 10th frame. Elson, needing a strike to win, remarkably “tripped” the 2-pin forward for the winning strike. Elson finished with 245 to best Kelch (232), Thomas (211), and Jensen (187).

The tournament paid out more than $5,200 in prize money, an amount greater than collected entry fees, demonstrating the Columbia 300 commitment to competitive tournament bowling.

The Columbia 300 Traditions Bowling Classic moves to suburban Omaha (Council Bluffs, IA) for its seventh tournament to be conducted at Thunderbowl on October 7-8, 2006. The Columbia 300 TBC circuit then heads for an October 21-22 tour stop at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno for an event which guarantees $4,000 for 1st place.
