November 8, 2006 - Middletown, OH
MIDDLETOWN, OH – Toledo’s Robert Flunder IV captured the title at the Columbia 300 Traditions Bowling Classic held at Eastern Lanes in Middletown, Ohio on November 4-5, 2006.
Flunder IV defeated Philip Duncan of Dayton, OH, Jim Bryant of Hubbard, OH, and Tim Hoke of Cambridge, MN in the tournament championship match to claim the Columbia 300 TBC top prize of $2,500.
In the championship match, Duncan gave Flunder IV a run for his money until a missed 9-pin in the 7th frame derailed his chances. Flunder IV took full advantage striking out to shut out all other opponents to claim the title. Flunder IV finished with 258 to best Duncan (226), Bryant (189), and Hoke (173).
The tournament paid out $4,800 in prize money, an amount greater than collected entry fees, demonstrating the Columbia 300 commitment to competitive tournament bowling.
The Columbia 300 Traditions Bowling Classic moves to Sterling Heights, MI (Detroit) for its next tournament to be conducted at Sunnybrook Lanes on November 18-19, 2006. The Detroit event will GUARANTEE a record 1st place prize of $5,000! The Columbia 300 TBC circuit then heads for a December 2-3 tournament at AMF Country Club Lanes in Baltimore followed by a December 16-17 event at Milwaukee’s Olympic Lanes.
